Page Elopement Guide: How to Elope in Page, Arizona
Page is a unique small town surrounded by some really incredible natural beauty. Located in Arizona, on the shore of Lake Powell and just south of the Utah border, it’s known for iconic landmarks like Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend – and there’s so much more to explore! For couples who love desert scenery and unique landscapes, as well as outdoor adventures, this guide will tell you everything you need to know to elope in Page, Arizona.
The Best Time to Elope in Page
Because of the desert climate, the best time to elope in Page will be spring or fall – summers get really hot, with temperatures reaching into triple digits, which can definitely get uncomfortable for outdoor elopements! It’s definitely possible to beat the heat by having your ceremony close to sunrise or sunset, or by staying near the water, but the rest of the year brings much more mild temperatures. Summer is also when flash floods are most likely to occur, so you’ll definitely need to keep an eye on the weather.
Spring and fall are perfect times to elope in Page, as the weather is warm but not too hot, and it’s perfect for hiking, paddle boarding, and all the other outdoor adventures that the town offers. These are the most popular times to visit, so you can expect more people to be around.
Winter is another good time to elope in Page – though it definitely can get chilly, daytime temperatures are usually in the high 40s to mid 50s, and with a few layers that can be pretty comfortable. Snow is uncommon, but it has happened, and can give you a unique view of the desert. Page is really quiet this time of year, which is perfect for an intimate elopement, and makes it easier to find a private spot to exchange vows!
The Best Places to Elope in Page
Page has so many iconic, gorgeous spots, so the hardest thing about deciding where to elope is just narrowing it down! Here are a few ideas for the best places to elope in Page, Arizona.
HORSESHOE BEND
One of the most famous locations in Page is Horseshoe Bend, where the Colorado River cuts through the sandstone, creating a horseshoe shape in the cliffs. There’s a short, easy hike from the parking lot to the overlook that’s about 1.5 miles roundtrip, so this is a great spot for couples who want to tie the knot somewhere that’s easily accessible. This is a really popular spot, so I recommend opting for a sunrise ceremony.

SLOT CANYONS
Slot canyons, with their windy, curved walls and narrow passageways, make for a really unique adventure! Antelope Canyon is the most popular slot canyon in the area, and though it’s a great place to check out while you’re here, wedding ceremonies aren’t allowed, and you can’t visit without a guide. But, there are so many more slot canyons in Page that are lesser known and just as beautiful!

LAKE POWELL
Lake Powell is a reservoir with deep blue water that’s surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs. It’s a beautiful place, and perfect for boating, kayaking, and paddle boarding! You can take a jeep tour through the surrounding bluffs, and there are several spots where you can get to the water.

OFF THE BEATEN PATH LOCATIONS
Page has lots of well known spots that are popular for a reason, but there are also so many off the beaten path, more private locations where you’ll have a place to yourself (or at least mostly to yourself) for your ceremony.
As an elopement photographer, a big part of my job is helping you find those lesser known elopement locations, and giving you personalized recommendations and a list of options.
Things to Do When You Elope in Page
One of the best things about eloping is that you create your own adventure! Page has so much to do and see, and so many ways to make your wedding day your own.
PADDLE BOARD ON LAKE POWELL
The gorgeous blue water of Lake Powell is perfect for paddle boarding or kayaking, and being on the water is a fun way to explore more of the area! You can paddle along surrounded by the cliffs, and it’s a great adventure for your elopement day.
JEEP TOUR
A 4×4 is a great way to explore a lot of an area, without having to hike! Page has a lot of options for Jeep tours that can take you to some of the best off the beaten path views, like Alstrom Point. You can rent a car and drive it yourself, or have an experienced guide take you to the best spots!
HIKING
There are lots of hiking trails around Page, and this can be a great way to adventure on your wedding day! There are plenty of shorter trails that lead to some pretty incredible views, but also some options for longer hikes.
SEE THE HOT AIR BALLOONS
Each year, the Page Chamber Street Fair happens around the end of October, and if you elope during this time, you can have the unique experience of seeing hundreds of hot air balloons take to the sky! Seeing them up in the air feels pretty magical, and it’s even more incredible against the backdrop of Lake Powell – so plan your elopement around the Balloon Regatta if you want to see this unique sight!
